A dear friend of mine is very widely read and knowledgeable about all sorts of religions. As a birthday dedication today she chose this quote by Thich Nhat Hanh, a Vietnamese monk., I had never heard of him I am ashamed to say, but I like this quotation very much. It reminds me of what I heard a priest saying on the radio recently. He was stressing the importance of men having a job that gives them some sort of satisfaction but allows enough time for the family. He said that a man at peace with himself will have a woman at peace and therefore children at peace.
If we are happy, if we are at peace with ourselves, we can blossom like a flower, and our family, and all of society, can benefit from our peace.
