On top of the world

You know that feeling of being on top of the world? It's a good one . Like the Carpenters song from the Seventies.

I'm on the top of the world
Looking down on creation
And the only explanation
I can find
Is the love that  I've found
Ever since you've been around
Your love's put me
On the top of the world.

Everybody probably has some special place where they feel on top of the world. It could be that when you're up high and looking down  you can more easily put things in perspective. You don't need to go to the top of a high mountain or a tall skyscraper to get that feeling. You probably can get it from a sand dune, a slide, a small hill or tower. Wherever it is you can clear your head and feel on top of the world.
England hasn't got high mountains but there are lots of places with amazing views and you can see for miles. You can climb up my hill and puff and pant a bit or you can just drive up a lane in the car. Whichever way you choose you will catch your breath when you see the view. The valley stretches in both directions as far as you can see. Nestled in the valley is a small village and there are farms dotted about.
You feel like you are looking at a view that has not changed for hundreds of years. Many people will have sat and looked at the view with their own private thoughts.
